MEDICARE INSURANCE

Medicare Plan Options

Hostetler Insurance is able to assist seniors with their Medicare Supplement, Medicare Advantage, and/or Medicare Rx insurance planning. We meet with each Medicare client face-to-face to evaluate their needs and explain all available coverage options. Consultation with our Medicare specialist is provided at no charge. Our goal is to help you to understand all of your options so that you are able to make good decisions regarding your Medicare plan needs. We strongly recommend that you become familiar with “Medicare & You”, the booklet produced by Medicare each year that explains Original Medicare.

The most common choices for Medicare coverage are:

Medigap Insurance

Medigap coverage works together with Medicare to provide coverage in some areas where Medicare does not. A variety of plans are available, and additional details about these programs are available by clicking here or by reading the Medicare booklet, “Choosing a Medigap Policy: A Guide to Health Insurance for People with Medicare”. For Medigap coverage, we represent a variety of insurance companies.

Medicare Advantage Plans

Medicare Advantage programs generally provide a variety of extra benefits and lower copayments than Original Medicare. If you choose to join a Medicare Advantage Plan, you must maintain your Medicare Part A and Part B coverage, but you will show your Medicare Advantage ID card when you receive medical services. Medicare Advantage plans may require that you use specific doctors or hospitals to receive the best benefits from the plan. Many Medicare Advantage plans also include prescription drug coverage as part of their overall program. We represent HealthAmerica Advantra as our preferred provider of Medicare Advantage plans in Central Pennsylvania. In cases where Advantra is not the best option, we also represent a variety of other Medicare Advantage plans. For more information about Medicare Advantage, click here.

Medicare Part D Prescription Plans

Medicare Part D Prescription Drug coverage is an optional benefit for Medicare beneficiaries. Many people do choose to enroll for prescription coverage because they are using prescription drugs and find that there is a savings associated with the Part D plan. Others who are not using medications may also choose to enroll for Part D coverage to avoid a penalty for late enrollment. For more information about Medicare Part D plans, click here. We represent a variety of providers of Medicare Part D plans in Central Pennsylvania, and we can help you to evaluate your PACE and PACENet eligibility. Because of the annual changes to rates, copays and the drug formulary, it is important to evaluate your Part D options every year. Hostetler Insurance will help you to evaluate your Part D plan options at no charge.

When it is time for you to consider your Medicare options, contact Barbara Hostetler at (717) 293-7100, ext. 105 or brh@hostetlerinsurance.com for an appointment to discuss the plans that are right for you.
